Fang's in Tien Mou

Jet lag hovered around us, but we ventured out to see a bit of Taipei anyway-- the area just north of the school. Jennifer and Emily, both also from the Human Resources Department of T.A.S., took us to lunch at a unbelievably great restaurant called Fang’s. We sampled some of the best Chinese cuisine available- it was fantastic! I especially loved the tofu dish and the green bean/tapioca desert ‘soup.’ Daniel preferred the dumplings and the sweet and sour pork. It was a wonderful introduction to the taste sensation available here! I like the Fang's restaurant in Apple Valley-- but this was the real deal-- excellent!

T.A.S.

We arrived in Taipei at 5:30 AM which was an hour earlier than expected; Brenda Lin, from Taipei American School’s Human Resources Department, met us at the airport after we cleared customs. We headed straight to T.A.S. to complete all the necessary paperwork for new teachers, tour the school, and meet some of the wonderful people at T.A.S. A few pictures of the school inside and out….

MSP, LAX, TPE

July 19, 2007
We left MSP at 9:15 PM and arrived in LAX before midnight—it was actually cold in LA! Our flight to Taipei departed just after 1:00 AM and took almost 14 hours---
Tried to sleep, watched “Wild Hogs,” read a little….a long flight….

Buca's

Today was last minute errand day in the Rosemount and Burnsville area- then we met with Andy, Melissa, Tyson, AJ, Dan, Tawnie, and Stephen at Buca’s near the airport. Terrific food and a wonderful chance to see our wonderful children ☺

Glencoe

We stayed in Glencoe for the night and said our “good-bye for now’s” to Mom and Dad and Deb and Carol and Brian and Mikayla and Fifi. We enjoyed a delicious buffet dinner at the Pizza Ranch- mmm – especially good dessert pizza.
